This is a style Jon posts in and approves of. Just pull the relevant info to the top so the thread is a bit easier to follow and provide a response. Have I been called out by Jon for bad posts? Yes, I have. Everybody makes mistakes. But please try to follow how Jon wants the list to operate. Finally: As far as getting "70s disco strings" sounds from the AN1x goes - would you use scissors to cut your lawn? Maybe, but it would take forever and wouldn't look good. Disco, hmmm, ya mean like "Fly Robin Fly", "Disco Inferno", "Stayin' Alive" or "Do the Hustle" where *Real Orchestras* with *Real Instruments* were used by the studios to perform sweeps, glissandos and 16th note licks? Then you've certainly got the wrong tool for the job... a virtual analog synth is supposed to sound like a limited function subtractive synth. Although you don't want too --- the best way to copy an acoustic instrument's sound is to use samples (or a modeling synth if you can afford it), that's just the facts of life. What's wrong with sample based synths anyway? Can't you afford one? There are a lot of soft synths out there to try that would give you what you're looking for.
