OK, the problem of the "Procedure entry point not found...KERNAL32.dll" error was an indication that I was trying to run XGWorks 3.06 on an Windows XP PC - I just had to download the 3.07 update to function correctly with XP. I'll report back on whether the standalone Expert Editor works to store arpeggios in AN200 patches.
