The Yamaha AN1x Synthesizer mailing list

When I go to the preset 238 (the string sound) and I turn it to just 
OSC 1, turn sync off, and listen to the sound I hear beating or some 
kind of LFO.  So I go to the LFO settings and turn everything to 0. 
Still there!  Does anyone known what is going on?  I read in the 
manual, which isn't very helpful with the things I need to know, and 
it said something about osc 1 having two oscillators..what's that 
about?

-Also, are the two visible oscillators on the board naturally 
programed to be an octave apart?  Because when I have sync turned 
off and freqs at 0 and the two waveforms set to the same one, like 
saw, they seem to be an octave apart.  How do I get them to be at 
the same octave?
