No, spyware can also come with clicking on links and most spyware didn't 
ask if they may install. I can send spyware behind a photo from a AN1X 
or evrything else you can click on.
Since I use AntiVir personal for antivirus (free) and outpost Firewal 
(agnitum) I see some links banned with the mark "AD" and then I know 
these are links with spyware.
So Jimmy, yes with discussion groups you can get spyware. But I think 
that Yahoo will control the messages. But do you use Chat programs? If 
yes then that will be the troublemaker.
For me I use only windows 2000 and further nothing from micROTsof (in 
dutch rot is the same as rotten and sof is something bad)
So don't use MicROTsof lookout or Internjet Exploder but use another 
mailprogramm and Opera for browser.
