Re: [AN1x] Au Revoir

2004-04-08 by Dale Kay

The pads and joystick is keen to my eye on the Korg. I use the darkstar's joystick and really like it doing sweeps. I have a zoom rt 323 with pads that do work fine. The evolutions did not feel right to me and I did not like them as much... Last weekend I played with them again at the local GC. I could not get them to open a korg box. The Korg micro was on display however and I think the feel on the keys on it might be similar.
But that isn't what I am after really. I do need to save settings on it as the vst's I use are different as well as the other synths. It isn't the keys for me, I sub that with a s-80 when I have things set up... Much to think and ponder....

I really like the Korg microKobtrol. It's obviously new substitute for a controller with
full size keys but, those 'springy' mini-key s are indded fun to play with as are the
velocity sensitive pads. What attracts me to the Korg is a) the number of preset
templates provided (which cover 90% of the softsynths I own) and b) the editing
software is OS X ready and appears to be easy to use.

I'm aware of the new Behringer control surface/mixers but I honestly haven't paid too
much attention. I am very interested in that new Yamaha 01x (?) model but, again, I
haven't spent much time on it.

It seems like every time I turn around there's some cool new piece of technology
  fueling my case of G.A.S.!!!
