Is the problem limited to just the one Voice or many Voices? Is it
limited to a discrepency between left/right levels or is your AN1x
suffering from distortion too?

Some years ago there had been a known problem with unwanted audio
artifacts appearing at the AN1x outputs - this was acknowledged by
Yamaha and could be corrected by a 'factory modification' performed
by returning the unit to Yamaha. The distortion, or 'popping'
and 'crackling' as it was known, was not an uncommon complaint but
I'm uncertain how to confirm this is indeed what ails your AN1x. It
is of course possible the two are unrelated.
