Check the Utility Control Assign Function. See if there's some 
controller other than MW (mod wheel) controling the Mod Dpt.

The utility control can be useful live. I set knob 1 in the Utility 
Control to control the volume of my Vintage keys. I set the volume 
value on my module to a negative # so when the knob is all the way 
counter-clockwise, the module is full volume and the AN1X is turned 
all the way down. Turn the knob clockwise and the AN1X turns up and 
the Vintage Keys turns down.
