Like Bruce, I use it in a rock context. Big leads, all the usual
string and heavy pads, etc. It has a fairly elaborate modulation
routing so you can emulate a number of the tricks on various antique
instruments. It does moogs pretty well, surprisingly. Particularly
big brassy lead tones like Wakeman and Emerson. For example, the
minimoog's resonance is less at lower cutoff levels (lower notes if
your cutoff tracks the keyboard). On the AN1X you can emulate that
particular filter characteristic to get the closed "bite" on the high
notes and the open buzz on the low notes which is part of that moogy
flavor.

It's not as big sounding and liquid as something like the Andromeda,
but it does have a wide range of tones. And it's definitely more
powerful sounding in the lead department than any rompler I have
played.

Hope this helps,

Jerry
