What Soundblaster card is it?  I've got a PCI128 I think (Can't 
remember, it's working OK AFAIK, I only use it for games mostly, but the 
Midi I/O works fine).  BTW. I agree that Creative are absolute rubbish, 
their support is amongst the worst I have ever come across, and to cap 
it all they want to charge some users of their products for driver 
updates!!

Anyway, my point is I have a 2nd PC hooked up to this machine, so I can 
use midi-ox on the 2nd machine to monitor what the midi-out from the SB 
is doing at boot time.

I'll get back to you in a second when I have rebooted this machine and 
checked.
