See page 96 of the Owner's Manual and Page 9 of the Data List. I've replicated the instructions for changing modes in the Env help (text faders) as well. And no, mode 1 & 2 have nothing to do with the Layer button. It's merely a "mode" where the AN1x will respond to MIDI CC's for each parameter. Jon
