--- In AN1x-list@y..., "Benjamin Dirix (EBR)" <benjamin.dirix@e...> > Now, since Yamaha didn't follow the same line as Korg by bringing out a VA and a drummachine to go with it (the case of the EA-1 and ER- 1) I wonder if the AN200 is as good a drummachine as it is a VA. The drumsets are AFAIK the same as in the RM1x and those are not bad and usable but samples as in the Roland Grooveboxes. I would suggest a Jomox Airbase...it´s only a rack but as well as the XBase09 with a combi of really punchy analogue sounds and samples. Of course you don´t have a sequencer, but that´s why you get a AN200, right? Even consider a ER-1, the sequencer and the interface are fantastic. The sound can be almost as good as Xbase with some EQing. But all in all, try some things out, and if you don´t like them, get rid of them and get something new. I recently purchased a s/h Xbase to play together with my AN1x and RS7000 and it rocks. The only three parts sequencer doesn´t bother me...i mean...it´s a drummachine, not a ROMpler...
