This was to explain why some Voices will differ between the two units. Since the sound engine for the AN200/PLG150AN is derived from that of the AN1x they should, in theory, sound identical. In practice, there may be audible differences between individual Voices created on one unit and played back on the other. This results from the differences between the Oscillators, polyphony, and effects processing. Which sounds 'better' is entirely subjective. IMO, which features suit your requirements (table top module vs. keyboard) is the more substantial question. I've only played an AN200 briefly on two occasions. IMO, the differences are so nuanced I hardly think they'd be noticeable in the greater context of a composition. In other words, the audience isn't going to be able to tell the difference. Personally, I didn't care for the drum sounds on the AN200. Here are some links to mull over if you're interested in disecting the feature sets: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AN1x- list/files/Documentation/plg150_an_specs.htm http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AN1x- list/files/Documentation/an1x_specs.htm regards, Jon
