Java actually did....jscript may not have (cept for on the serverside) but java has dropped the bomb in a biiiiiiig way....just in another skin-flash is based on java and flash is absolutely HUGE these days...i know windows won't be kicked out anytime soon and i never said it woudl be....i personally love windows, i've never had too much trouble w/ instability-sure i've got my gripes.... > Something might pop up with Linux, but the Linux hype is the same as the > Java hype we had a few years ago. Java was going to be *the* thing on your > desktop. Has that happened? No way. Lotsado about nothing and Sun's > marketing department trying to create an image that was just plain wrong. > oh, so your saying there will be innovation rather than stale programs comming out year after year...gotchya :-) haha, maybe that's not what you had in mind, but thats what i see...look at bram bos(hammerhead, moonfish, tureg, and the mind behind steinberg's BBox) -even tho he is doing stuff for windows and he doesnt have minions behind him, i think that he has, on his own with no help, made some of the coolest programs out there-many people hate them but they are free (cept bbox)....if he had a whole scene behind him doing the same thing who knows what could happen? >> and it will not happen. If something will pop up, it'll be a labour of love from a hacker, and not something from the established firms like Steinberg and Emagic. The target audiences of Linux and music software companies are >>rather disjunct. haha oops, did i say invented? i was in a hurry-developed...slap me >>>(the guy who 'invented' Linux), by the time i can afford mac, i'll be dead...haha...and whether he was misquoted or not i still think it's funny :-) >>>Therefore, it's Mac OS X for me. By the time I can afford a Mac, they'll have fixed the OS. :) nah.....like i always say-it just comes down to preference, there's no point in argueing with people because it's like arguing about religion, nearly pointless...so let's all be happy an shut up about our OS :-) [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
