I've had my AN1x v1.02 for nearly two years now with no sign of any significant bugs - not even a battery low warning ;-) There are a couple of design "limitations" (IMHO) I'd change but those don't qualify as bugs. And half of the changes I'd want would have driven up the MSRP so it's trade off :-/ The *only* problem I've had - and it was repaired by Yamaha under warranty - was that nasty 'popping' and 'clicking' sound at power-up that affected so many AN1x's back then (24+ months ago.) Being a hardware issue that problem probably would have only grown worse over time. Let's face it, the AN1x is relatively bug free (OS problems.) I don't worry much about the OS ROM upgrade but if it's a nagging concern for you - call or email Yamaha and solicit the EPROM chip (just as Ed did.) At least you'll have peace of mind that you're on the current version. :-) regards, Jon --- In AN1x-list@egroups.com, Phil <accession@o...> wrote: > Hi All, > > I too am very curious about the O/S ROM upgrade.... > > The thing I don't understand is, why isn't *everyone* affected by the > problems related to the old version?
