Hi Stephen, I'm using a MO8 (but all yamaha motif's have the same sound) along with my AN1X and the couple makes wonders! The Motif is really great-sounding waveform-based synth. It sounds smoother than the AN1X. It's also have great pads and other electo sounds. When I play the two synths together, I like the way they fit together. And since they sound really different, they generally do not require any EQ do make them clear and distinguishable.
