Hi,

So, I was doing my Hawk 800 upgrade and totally screwed something up. My EX800 won't boot up now (no LCD screen updates). I have the stock chips re-inserted.

A couple contact pads didn't fair well in the IC desolder. I've manually traced and tested the continuity from the sockets to their designations and all are testing OK. I also scratched a trace near IC23. Between a through board hole near IC21, pin 24 down the trace to IC23. I soldered a jumper wire to the contact point which goes under to the bottom of the PCB. It makes contact with PIN 19 of IC23. Going to the right as well is another part of the trace that ends up to IC26 Pin 24, so I think . The schematics have a different labeling for IC23 then the tech sheet for H373P. (5G instead of 5Q).

I'm still a novice at reading schems  (comp sci not EE) so I was wonder if someone could comment on the sanity of this "fix". http://imgur.com/VV2Hezq

It's still not booting with this in place unfortunately. I had the ribbon cables reversed the first time I went to turn it on so I'm hoping I didn't FUBAR another IC by accident. I don't have an oscilloscope (yet) to test :(

Cheers,

Joe
