Error 6 means there is a difference in the checksum calculation and the checksum value for the third flash ROM.

This means you have corrupted data in the third flash ROM. Which means you need to reflash the software into the third ROM.

Error 4 - first block of flash ROM
Error 5 - second block of flash ROM
Error 6 - third block of flash ROM.

Subject: [korgpolyex] Error 6???

So a few weeks ago a did a photo shoot involving my hawk-modded EX800, and the synth was jostled around more than it's used to, I'm sure. Now, when I power it on, the display reads ERROR 6 after the initial boot. It does this only momentarily before going to patch 11 of whatever bank I have selected. I only have patches loaded on banks 1 and 2, but none of the data is corrupted. In fact, the synth seems to be functioning perfectly normal. I'm usually a "leave well enough alone" kind of person, but can anyone tell me what's causing the ERROR 6? I have the most recent version of the firmware loaded (2.5.5). The user manual only lists errors 1-5!

Thanks!
