 um...
LOL!!!
maybe i'm not understanding this question, but if you are standing on the stage,
Poly800 strapped on, you have one dedicated patch for midi to your rack keytar only.
Then your still standing there, you want to do some great keyboard thing with only
your Poly-800 sounds? Easy, you go into the 800s patches before hand,
and the ones you are going to play 800 only, turn of the midi parameter,
and save them that way.
after doing that, now from your numerical keypad on the 800,
, you have the option to:
1. midi keytar only
2.800 sounds only
3.both ot the same time if you set it up that way.

And you are standing way far away from your keyboard rig,
and in total control so far.
Now, running your Sequencer into the 800 at the same time all this
other midi out stuff is going on, you just need another cord to 800 midi in.
but your going to run out of notes fast.
and wont be able to play much of anything on top as a keytar.
But you are really getting into complicated stuff as the sequencer will
go through the 800 and set of your modules maybe as well as the 800?
plus you are going to have to tape 2 very long midi cords together for this to work,
but don't get too long, or you will need a MIDI BUFFER, and then you have another problem.

I like Jill's idea for a no-sound patch, when i just want to play midi. But what if i don't want midi and I just want to hear Poly 800 sounds, without having to touch my other synths?
