Sysex is the slowest. "Direct" MIDI CC's come next followed by NRPN's.
But the MIDI controllers (direct and NRPN) are all about the same speed. There is a large incoming MIDI buffer in the HAWK. So what tends to happen is if you send to much then the buffer starts to fill. And it then becomes pretty obvious that you're sending too many MIDI CC's.
A good test I've done is to wind my controller knobs from zero to max to zero and do that with two parameters. The result is that it the HAWK is actually reasonably good at handling large volumes of MIDI CC's. But if you run the sequencer, use LOTS of parameter settings AND send a lot of MIDI CC's, then you will start to see HAWK get a little sluggish.

Mike,
What parameter communication method (NRPN, controller, sysex) requires the least CPU overhead for HAWK? Lowest latency, fastest response, etc.
