Subject: CORRECTION: Full FM-800 AtomaHawk patch set

From: Michael Hawkins <korgpolyex800@...>
Date: 2010-02-11

Well, I made a couple of mistakes with this email out to my customers that I now need to correct. I really shouldn't send out this kind of thing when I'm sick with a head cold and souped up on cough medicine.

First of all, there was an error in the patch dump file. I have now corrected that and the file that is up on the web site is tested and works OK.

Second, my instructions were wrong. The patch file would have overwritten the patches in bank 1, not the one you select.

So I have changed the patch dump to make sure that it copies the patches into patch bank 4.

So, to summarize, the patch dump file was corrupted but is OK now and the patch dump will go into patch bank 4.

Mike

Subject: Full FM-800 AtomaHawk patch set

Well, I finally put a full 64 patches of FM-800 coolness together.

The HAWK-800 patch set is here available at www.hawk800.com/techsupport.html

You will see a file available called Mikes-FM-800-Patch-Set.syx

This HAWK-800 bulk patch dump contains what I think are a diverse group of sounds that show case the FM-800 mod when under full control of the HAWK-800 kit.

To upload this patch set into your HAWK-800 requires entering diagnostic mode and then using diagnostic mode 8.

To do this, select the patch bank you wish to use by setting global 13 to the desired patch bank (1-4).

You might want back up your patches if you wish to keep them.

Then enter diagnostic mode by selecting global 11 and set the parameter value to 26 (11 GL 26).

Then press the "Write" button. The display should change to "DIAG".

Now press the "8" button. The display should change to "PATCH".

Now use MIDI-OX or some other software to send the syx file to your HAWK-800.

Wait for the "Good" message to appear. Press the "Prog/Para" button to restart your HAWK-800.

Now you should have access to all 64 patches in that patch bank.

I think you will like the sounds. Let me know what you think.

Mike
