Subject: New software update - HAWK-800 - yes

I have just posted another update of the software on the hawk800.com website.

You can download it directly from here:

http://www.hawk800.com/Version-2.4.5.zip

This update includes changes to sequence edit mode so that you no longer have to reach around the back to enter and exit sequencer edit mode.

Also, I improved the advanced sequencer selection.

Once you install the new software, here's how it works.

To edit a sequence, simply press and hold down the "Write" button and then press the "Start" button. The display will jump straight into sequence edit mode.

Then step edit your sequence (painful as that is) as you normally would.

Then to exit sequence edit mode, simply press the "Write" button again.

How easy is that?!

Now, I have also adjusted the advanced sequencer mode a little.

To select a sequence (for either editing or playback) press and hold down the "Bank Hold" button and then press any of the keypad numbers from 1 through to 7. The display will change to show the selected sequence.

And while sequences are playing, you can select other sequences to play by, once again, holding down the "Bank Hold" button and then pressing the keypad numbers 1 through 7 to select the desired sequence. Sequences that have already been edited/prerecorded can be selected while the sequencer is running. Empty sequences cannot be selected during playback.

So basically, you can edit and playback any of the sequences without having to fumble around with the sequencer edit switch on the back of the Poly-800.

If all of these extra sequences and display information is too much or you don't care one whit about the sequencer anyway, just go into global mode and select parameter 43 and set it to one (1). This will set the HAWK-800 back to original one sequence only mode.

Now, if you have spent any time using the sequencer watch out for how many times you go to reach around the back before you remember that you can edit your sequence just from the front panel switches! :-)

Enjoy!
