Ok I finally got around to doing the Moogslayer on one of my Korgs. I
decided to modify the more beat up of the two. That way if I botch it
I'll be less annoyed. The hardest part was removing the two VRs. Ended
up removing the entire board and desoldering from both sides before
pulling the buggers off. That and getting the lead onto the power
diode was tricky. Mine had a much shorter available lead than I have
seen in other photos of the mod. I think it is worht mentioning that
its a good idea to zip tie your bundle of wires in addition to using
the heat shrink tubing. This makes it more robust and roadworthy.
The results were worth it! Very fun!
I used some orange knobs left over from an old PM1000 mixer. They look
very "period" on the 800.
