I was contemplating turning "Gappy" my half keyed poly into just such a rackmount beast so as to have the extra voices offered by the third poly, without the desktop footprint.

certainly not too difficult just gotta do it

Im still really loving the idea of all parameters visible and adjustable at one time via lcd displays and switches under the present static information panel.

best regards,

Apologies for implying you were a newbie.

The problem with trying to make either the Poly or even the EX800
smaller for a tabletop is that the main circuit board is not much
smaller than the rectangular shape of the EX800 itself. That leaves
making a rack mount version. That's something I've thought about a few
times. And now that I know so much about the firmware it would be very
possible to do by using a small LCD display and keypad unit. But I am
not so sure it would be worth all of the effort. Nevertheless, I am
thinking about putting the LCD interface circuit onto the new mod kit
so that we can do it in the future - perhaps.
