Awesome story, but you may have better luck with a lower price.  101s have been going for between $2600 and $3000 on eBay in the last year.  I don't think one has ever sold for over $3300.

I can't believe it has come to this but I need to totally - and I mean totally - replace the roof of my house. As I look around at my highly prized synthesizer collection and wonder what would fetch the most money quickly and the answer, sadly, is my EML 101.

The shame of it is I wanted the EML 101 because I couldn't afford an ARP 2600 back in 1973 or '74. I researched and researched and found the EML 101 was not only similar and less expensive than the 2600, it was better. 4 VCOs, not a measly 3! The bad news was I still couldn't afford it. So I built a PAiA 2700R. Before you start laughing I still have a nice 4700 set up!

Then, when I could afford an EML, I went in search and found one about 10 years ago. I love the sound of the instrument; so different than the ARP or a Moog (or even a PAiA). More organic and expressive.

Enuff! I must sacrifice and the EML is on the altar, like Issac, waiting to be an offering to God or, in my case, the roofing company.

So...my misfortune may become your fortune. eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120964746896&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:1123.

You have the dryness of my house in your hands!

All the best...
