As I said, I don't read schematics and I have almost no real understanding
of electronics, cicuitry etc.
There is a way to get the EML sequencer to triggersteps in reverse order.
Does "progressive retrograde" mean fire in reverse order but loop start
advances one step at end of each cycle? I think that's possible on the 400
too. I suppose the schematics may help you do such things on another
sequencer but the actual process of creating most sequence permutations on
the EML is a simple matter of patching and adjusting sliders, doesn't
require any internal modification.
