Subject: Maelstrom (american band) Mellotronist

Hi all, I just came across this site and joined. I played the keys for
the 1970's american band Maelstrom. I bought my mellotron in 1973, in
Salem, Indiana at Kramer"s Music Store. Mr. Kramer had no idea what a
mello was, but he ordered it and 3 weeks later we drove down and picked
it up. I still have it!!They really were a pain in the ass to maintain,
but, it was an incredible feeling when you could fill a building with
sound. Mike Pinder stated that playing a mellotron was like " riding a
rocket". I'm sure you all have had similiar experiences. When you have
a PA that cranking a couple thousand watts and you can bring the sound
from the nebulous to the supreme is really another form of an erection.
Well thank you for allowing me to introduce myself. I don't do this
much since I'm a semi-recluse living on the top of a mountain.

Sincerely, mellotronko/
