The Tony Levin Electric Cello was a revelation! Having got used to the classic Cello over the years, this new sound surprised me on 3 fronts. Firstly, it's an immensely powerful sound, capable of testing the foundations of your house! Secondly, it's a consistent sound as far as timbre and tuning is concerned. Thirdly, and surprisingly. At the top end of the range, the sound becomes very reedy, sounding like a cross between a clarinet/oboe and flute! You could quite easily use it as a pad.
As I mention, combine it with Sad Strings, the overall effect becomes awesome! Personally I would have the two on adjoining tracks as the potential for blending on the new Streetly tape is well worth it.

PS. A word on Sad Strings, which Martin has created from an unedited original. This is different enough from mk2 3 violins and m300 strings to fully justify it's position in any of our tape frames! Highly emotive...Nice.
PPS...A final word on "Boys Choir" If ever there was a case for tuning and editing, this has to be it. I came away with this in a new frame and the results of Martins labours are a truly lovely choir, gentle and atmospheric. Great stuff.
Guys, please make full use of Martin and John's ongoing dedication to refining and developing the machines we all know and love. I know they are constantly looking at ways offering us new ideas on sounds/ mods etc. so that we may all benefit in the long term.
