with the clock ticking down on access to the BBC special,
i was finally able to hear [and grab] a copy here at the
office.
i put "real alternative" on a co-worker's pc [why hose mine
when i can fux up somebody else's]. it worked fine so it's
now on my work pc too [i am the IT guy here so if anything
went wrong i would have to fix it anyway...]
i grabbed the stream at 44.1k/16 bit to a .wav file.
edited out the bs at the start and end, and just burned
a copy i can listen to on my way home tonight.
thanks for the offers to send me a copy to those that offered.
BTW: realalternative can handle MOST real media files, and
has none of the crap that comes with installing the REAL real.
[really!]
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htmthere is also a quicktime alternative:
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/QuickTime_Alternative.htmthough i find quicktime a bit less intrusive, it DOES insist
on starting processes that i never asked it to [qttask keeps
installing itself whenever i play a qt file no matter how many
times i remove it from my startup list!]
