That brings up the inevitable comparison between wives and Mellotrons. Both need continuous maintenance. Both can be unreliable at times (but less so with continuous maintenance) Some cost more to maintain than others.
And one you can't screw, though it can screw you. This most often only happens in front of a crowd.
