Subject: Keyboard Tabs/MIDI Explorer... & "Mello-T"

Hi all... getting caught up...

Re: "Keyboard Tabs"... I've seen few of them... the only one that comes to mind off-hand is the "Starless" tab at "Elephant Talk"... The best idea I've got is to "Google" The song chords (ex: "Starless" song chords... or "Epitaph" chords) ... hope that Google (or whatever search engine you use) can find it for you... and get a good keyboard chord reference book to translate what you get from them. It's a pity... but most "sheet music" that you can buy, isn't accurate... and where most of them will show a picture of the guitar chords...I haven't seen any keyboard chord diagrams in any of 'em!

For those of you who have a use for sequences... the best way to find them on the 'net (IMHO) is the "MIDI Explorer" site ( www.musicrobot.com ) It's a search engine dedicated to nothing but MIDI sequences. I've found it useful as a way to learn songs that I have no intention of buying, yet the group I play with, has added it to the set lists. The sequences are listed according to byte size... obviously the bigger the byte size, the better the sequence. If you don't know the song title... you can search by the "group"... or "artist" as well. Very useful... if you ask me

Recently a friend of mine purchased "Reason" for his computer. At the music store, he noticed a CD for sale, filled with sounds/patches for Reason called: Sonic Refills-Vol. 20: "Mello-T" ... obviously 'Tron sounds for the Reason program. As he's interested in mellotron sounds for his computer... and he has Reason... and the CD was fairly cheap... he asked me about it. As I'm not familiar with this CD... I thought that maybe someone here could tell us if it's worth purchasing.

That's it for now... be seeing you...
