Can someone out there please tell me why Nobody EVER mentions one of
the most outstanding uses of a mellotron EVER? For me it has got to
be John Paul Jones on "The Rain Song".. Before I even knew that it
was a mellotron making all of that music it had me completley in
awe.. Its a beautiful Jimmy Page composition no doubt, but without
the Mellotron it just wouldnt be magic.. I know alot of you out there
got yer first taste of the Mellotron by listening to all of the
classic prog bands , and they certainly contain some fine examples of
classic Tron.. But not even a mention of this piece?!! I really love
when the intro bit repeats, after the instrumental break, and the
Cello follows... Always touches me.. Oh well let my rant fall upon
deaf ears.. I mean, you mentioned Billy Joel and Elton John's use of
Tron before this one?!!
