Hi All
I've just joined this group so I'd like to say hello to you all and a
belated Merry Christmas. I've become a confirmed eBay addict, so far
I've bought loads of CD's, guitar parts, and models of Concorde but
sometimes I type in 'mellotron' just to see what comes up. I saw the
one in Austria a couple of weeks back, and actually bid. I knew I'd
never be able to afford it, I just bid so that I'd be able to say I'd
done it - and the screenshot with 'you are the highest bidder' does
look very nice framed and on the wall!
I stopped at 1477 (about £900), but had I realised the end price was
going to be equivalent to about £1500, plus only 100 euros to ship it
here (that's Bristol, England) might have been tempted to go
further. Of course, we have no way of knowing how high the eventual
winner was willing to go - is he anyone known to you guys?
I don't currently have a 'Tron but will soon be looking, all these
samples, and synths that try to sound like one are all very well, but
after a while you start thinking, what about the real thing!
Regards,
Steve Tebble.
