In the late 1970's, I played in a popular band in Vermont, doing a modest selection of originals, a lot of arena-rock stuff, Styx, Foreigner, Journey, REO, and the like, and also a fair amount of fusiony stuff like Steely Dan and Return to Forever. I had a nice setup, some of my own keyboards, and some gear that the band owned, including an early Korg analog polyphonic which was a mildly eccentric and uncommon synth of the time that I got a lot of good use out of. I left the band in 1980, but have stayed a Korg fan to this day. A few years ago, I saw a Korg P listed on eBay, and ended up winning the auction. The seller was in the northeast, and I mentioned in an email that I had used one of these instruments in a band in Vermont, and told a little of the band history. To make a long story short, the fellow that sold me the eBay Korg was the brother of the player who replaced me in the band in 1980, and when he left the band a couple of years later, he bought the Korg and took it with him and sold it to his brother, my eBay seller, many years later.
I now own the exact same instrument that I played on many New England stages over twenty-five years ago.
