Subject: "Mark" the 'tron

Gosh...I didn't realise a number of you have names for your units.
Sure I knew of the Pindertron and a few famous ones, but what kind of
a unique name can you give yr standard stock M-400? Maybe I'll call
mine Vinson Massif cause it's big and white. Or something that
revolves around the little penguin feet. I thought naming things mass
produced like this didn't go much beyond naming Volkswagens.

Grandma had a '52 VW Bug named Gus (short for Gesundheit), and I had a
'64 VW bus named Amon Duul 3. AD3 died of colon cancer in 1976. Also
had a blue '64 Pontiac Bonneville Safari SW tank drubbed Tarkus, and
another car with a dent smack dab in the middle of the front end that
caused the headlights to cross beams before hitting the road. Despite
this, they hit both high and low beam perfectly, so I didn't adjust it
(that one was Cross-Eyed Mary).

When I brought my M-400 home in the back of a pickup camper, I hit
some black ice. I figured if the 'tron wasn't back there over the rear
wheels, I would have lost traction and spun out big time, but then
again--if I hadn't gone out to pick it up, I guess the slippery mishap
wouldn't have happened in the first place.

Why do people say "VW" instead of "Volkswagen?" It takes one extra
syllable to say VW. What a waste of hot air in these energy-conscious
times.
