So Frank... You are helping Jim sell these.
Lest anyone have the wrong impression, I contacted Jim about the possibility of buying the 400 (if reasonably priced) as a fixer-upeer project (read, I say again, read the original posting again). That was my only interest. He was adamant about selling them as a package. I offered to put some feelers out for him (i.e., letting people know of their availability). I am not helping him sell these. The information provided was what he gave me, despite being asked the standard questions (tapes, motor controller, etc., etc., etc.). He doesn't have a computer, therefore no email access. For those enquiring minds who want to know more, email me privately for his # and you can deal with him directly. Is any of this unclear?
To me (and others), the price is unrealistic; however one man's poison is another man's medicine. Perhaps someone feels it is reasonable. Don't shoot me, I'm only the messenger.
Similarly, I recently went to Hollywood to check out the MkII that's shown up on eBay a few times. The conclusion after inspection and consultation with Streetly: Too many problems (cycling, drag, etc., etc., etc.) and not worth anywhere near the $16K the guy wanted for it.
I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday -- maybe the week before!
