"See, I told you Paul McCartney was in a band before he went solo!"

EEK!

I had a serious senior moment the other day, relating to the above.  I was at the grocery store, stocking up on goodies just prior to the super bowl.  I overheard the girl bagging the groceries (she must have been 18 or so)  ask her co-worker who would be performing at the half-time show.  After he said that he didn't know, I chimed in "It'll be Paul McCartney".  She looked puzzled, like she didn't hear me, so I repeated "Paul McCartney!".  She actually said to me "Who's that"?  I responded, "cmon, your kidding right, he used to be in the Beatles, you know?"  That didn't seem to help much.

Of course, by that time several people came to my rescue and chimed in "how could you not know who Paul McCartney is" to the flustered girl.  Strange thing is, all of these people were senior citizens (I do live in Florida, after all).  Anyway, I left the store feeling that the situation I just experienced would become more common, going forward.  I guess time marches on....  I wonder how long it will be before we see the first Mellotron on the "Antiques Roadshow"?  I can see it now.  "We didn't know what this thing was, so we consulted with an expert in the field, Professor Jerry Korb.  He said that this actually used precorded tapes......fascinating..."
