Subject: early Mellotron usage in the USA

Here we go again--a few months ago, I brought up the suspicion that the
Steve Miller Band in the late 1960's might have used a Mk 2 on a
handful of their early Capitol albums (but you all told me they
recorded these albums in England), and now I find another west coast
band that might have done the same.
Eclectic Discs out of Canterbury (perhaps most famous right now for
keeping bands like Caravan and Nektar alive with both new and reissued
CD's) has reissued the 1968 gem by Touch (with bonus material), and one
of the new tracks is a monster extruded instrumental drama prog workout
titled "The Second Coming Of Suzanne (Film Music 1973)" loaded with
standard flute and strings from what sounds like an M-400. Don Gallucci
is the keyboard player on this--also a former member of The Kingsman
back in the early 60's. No mention is made where that track was
recorded, but Touch has Portland, Oregon roots...so there might be yet
another M-400 kicking around the Pacific Northwest perhaps unaccounted
for.
