I've recently done this with a new Systems Theory track named 'Water
Through Fingers'. The coda features nine Mellotrons - Mk II strings,
cellos, Dickstrings, Sad Strings and a little string section, all over
the stereo spectrum and playing a ∗sort of∗ round on six chords. It's a
fabulous noise.

If you want to double up a faux orchestra then you could do worse than
to double up Sad Strings and th GC3 brass. Fortunately I have them on
adjacent tracks on the same frame. They are much better tuned than the
Mk II brass and strings and are (accidentally) weighted in volume and
timbre to make it sound ∗very∗ convincing, not least because it's two
sounds that appear fairly un-Mellotronic, if you play them well enough.
