The trouble withThanksgiving is that it leaves those of us on the other side of thewater utterly bemused. Or maybe it's just me. I'm now trying to thinkof something we celebrate that does the same in reverse. Various bankholidays whose origins are lost in the mists of time? Hogmanay (northof the border)? Mystifies us southerners, so God knows what Americansmake of it.  :-)
