That "Uriah Heep" mellotron, s/n 1080, was once owned by magician
David Copperfield. Copperfield got it because his idol, English
magician, David Nixon had had a Mk II mellotron in the mid 60's.
Magician David Nixon was also working with Les Bradley on the
promotion of the mellotron. Both Nixon and Copperfield were quite
good on the mellotron and I've heard that John Lennon commented, in
Rolling Stone, that," those guys could play the dickens out of those
mellotrons".
