From what I recall about Threshold, yes it was a label started by the
Moodies so that they could retain possession of both their master tapes and
publishing.

The objective was to prevent them from being screwed (again) by record
company fineprint as they had experienced first time around with the "Go Now
era " Denny Laine led version of the band. They supposedly lost all their
money via expenses, and had determined to own their own label and play the
stock market regularly - something the hippies of the time found
questionable and rejected them for despite the music.

The other idea behind Threshold was to promote bands signed to their label
and help the underdog so to speak.
" Live hand in hand and together we'll stand on the Threshold Of A Dream
- sound familiar??

Perhaps not that much different from what the Beatles originally intended
Apple to be. Of course, both labels now are little more than one room
offices that administer the business ends for both bands.
