I, for one, have been known to run up obscene telephonebills from speaking
to both Martin and John at Streetly as well as Markus at, well... Markus'place
(the factory). It is my opinion that all three of these individualsare
devoted to the continuation of the Mellotron, as well as its improvement. It seems
to me that the only individual involved who has no real further involvementor
interest is Dave Kean.

Perhaps Mr. Kean may be persuaded to sell the name and whatever entitlements
that brings, to those who really care. Then the others can unite ina singular
purpose, share a few pints, have a big hug (perhaps a shared momentof
buggery) and get on with business, leaving the odd man (so to speak)out.

I know, call me a dreamer, but that would be a pretty good consolidationof
talent, knowledge and craftsmanship.    Frank (1562)

Greetings All,

Eloquently written,Frank. Ever since I met/befriended
Bill Eberlineof DMI/Sound Sales in the early 70's, I often
wished the riftwould be closed between "us vs. them."

In 1998 when JB/familywere our guests here in New England,
I arranged alengthy telephone call between JB and
Bill Eberline.According to Bill, he feels that he still
legally ownsthe rights to the Mellotron name.
But any litigationto determine Bill's or  Dave Kean's actual
ownership wouldbe so costly that only the legal firm of
"Dewey,Cheatham,&Howe" would win.

As we all headinto this new century, maybe in the near
future, the saga of the "21st Century Schizoid Tron"
will be a mootpoint.  Then all Mellotron lovers, fans, owners,
and builders/restorers can pass the peace-pipe together.......

Whaddaya say, gang??    Thinking out-loud again,  JK
