It's got to be either '6 Wives' or the Strawbs' 'Bursting at the Seams', on
'Lay Down' and 'Down By The Sea'. According to one of my reference books,
they both appeared in the same month, Feb.'73, so it's a toss-up as to who
actually recorded with it first.
Assuming that it was one of the two above-mentioned albums, a little research turns up the information that "6 Wives" was released on 02/11/73, and that "Bursting" had an originally scheduled release date of 01/26/73, but got "pushed back a week" because of a graphics problem, which would place its release on or about 02/03/73.  Chalk one up for Strawbs and Mr. Weaver.  As far as who actually recorded it first, "6 Wives" was recorded much earlier in 1972 than Strawbs did on Bursting" (12/72), so Rick appears to have won that round.  Depends on your standard of measure, I guess!

Frank's right - '6 Wives' says 'recorded between Feb & Oct '72', while 'Bursting' says 'Oct to Dec '72'. So, iiiiiit's......... Rick! There may possibly be an earlier recording of the sound, but I've listened to an awful lot of 'Tron albums over the last few years, and haven't heard anything that would qualify.
