I know exactly the section you're referring to. The Man himself told me that they attempted to make their own tapes one time, but were not suitable for use. More likely the way the tron itself was recorded. That would be a great question for Derek Varnals, whom I hope to interview for the revised book (and had expressed an interest in doing so).
