And what's this in a recent post about an M-400 that got tweaked
because it was shipped in an anvil case upside down? Wouldn't the
feet sticking out imply, uhm..."this side down"? Maybe I need to be
educated about the diff between a muff cover and an anvil box. MineI
just wrapped up in blankets and slowed down on county roads and at
RxR crossings & hoped for the best.

I should make up packaging stickers that read "this side must face
north" or "not radioactive this week" and watch a few shippers and
truckers pull their hair out. Really throw a curve and poke
ventilation holes in neat grid patterns on one side of the box.

Hello Mellotrongirland gang,

RCA NE-6 is anotherexample of people testing the waters
on eBay. In mysix years there, here are two blatant instances :

A common lightbulb(not rare Edison) with opening bid of $1 .
......But a "buy-it-now"price of $5000 !

A postal card from 1905 depicting an early railroad and canal.
Typically, thiscard has sold for $40.00 .  This time, a new
eBay seller hadbuy-it-now for  $1200 !

RE: shipping ofTrons, I suppose Murphy's Law applies
in every aspectof the term.  I don't have the colourful
transport storiesas Streetly/DK and others, but my
M300 had beendropped off the rear of a truck  and
split-open beforeI purchased it. This was the same
unit which JBlovingly shipped to DK in 1991
and was featuredon DK's  video series.

My beloved MK-I"Julia" had gotten quite a few
knocks and bumpsas she travelled from Merced,CA
to Vermont. And this was Keyboard Carriage Inc,
a firm that "specialisesin musical instrument
transport." Someonetried to use fork-lift blades under
the MK-I cabinet, resulting in split lower panel in the rear.
Their "customerservice" bordered on rude-crude
when I calledto file damage report.

Motto : Maybe your idea of special labels and grille
vents with recordedgrowls might help, Mellotrongirl !

If shippers getany more inept, we might have to affix
labels on bottomsof all beer-bottles stating :
"Open Other End."
