if both America and Britain showed solidarity and did the right thing and
stayed the hell out of this. "proud fighting tradition " indeed... sheesh

All right, Paul, you've just opened up Pandora's Box. I don't know which side of the pond you're from (and frankly don't really care), but I'm tired of all this America bashing from treasonous, yes, treasonous people like you. I am a proud and patriotic American who believes in doing the right thing, and fuck politics and political correctness. I am also damn grateful for our British allies. Spare me the faulty liberal rhetoric like, "It's an unjust war" - There's no circumstance in your mindset that would make it "just". Not mass murder of hundreds of thousands of Saddam's own people over 25 years of despotic rule (with WMD's that he says he doesn't have), giving aid to suicide bombers and their families, not the stockpiling of WMD's (that he's threatened to use on our troops as they approach Baghdad; what idiots like you say he doesn't have), not 12 years of thumbing his nose at umpteen UN resolutions and umpteen inspections (including evidence of chemical weapons recently found that UN wunderkind Hans Blix amazingly didn't find even after multiple inspections of the same site), aiding and abetting other terrorist groups, etc., etc., etc. Is your Alzheimer's/Organic Brain Syndrome so bad that you forget 9/11? I have pictures I can send you as a reminder. Do you think that you're going to get a pass when a dirty bomb is detonated in your neighborhood or your water supply is poisoned? You and I are still infidels in their eyes regardless of our views and they want to kill you as much as they want to kill me. Have you talked to displaced Iraqis (as I have) and gotten a firsthand account of the atrocities that occur there on a regular basis? Where does this fit in with your liberal, human rights stance? Do you not think the Iraqis are humans? Or are you just so pissed that Bush is President and not Gore. Are you one of those people who can't accept the Supreme Court's decision regarding the election but gladly accept that same Court's decision on Roe v. Wade (baby killer!) as the law of the land? Are you aware that almost every nation in the world is supportive of this action, save for a few like the pussy French and Germans? Unilateral action, my ass! Where was your dissent when Clinton bombed the shit out of Bosnia without UN or Congressional approval, hypocrite? Don't tell me that even the Pope says it's unjust. How unjust is it going to be if we pull out and allow this murderous regime to continue. Hey, John Paul, I don't see anywhere where Jesus said to just stand by and allow genocide to occur. You gonna turn a blind eye as in WWII with the Germans against the Jews, then plead ignorance and ask for forgiveness? Are you in the minority that participate in disruptive protests that drain police resources and run up city debts? Do you really want me go on further?
I am a conservative, Christian, Caucasian male. Lest you get the wrong impression that I was always like this, let me inform you that I grew up in MA - Kennedy Country - in the 50's and 60's. A staunch Democrat, I idolized JFK, and believed in the antiwar movement, ready to go to Canada if I had been drafted. Back then I thought as a child, spoke as a child, and acted like a child. I had my moment of clarity and realized that I was wrong. Then I became a man, a worker, a husband, a father, someone with character, responsibilities, ethics, values, and morals (look them up in Webster's because apparently these concepts seem foreign to you). If there's anything childlike about me, it's that I am a child of God. The rest you should have gathered by now.
I'm not one to get up on a soapbox, but your comments strike a nerve deep inside me and piss me off to no end. Troops are fighting, not only for the liberation of the Iraqi people, but for your right to continue openly verbalizing your stupidity. I sure as shit wouldn't want you in a foxhole next to me -- but then you probably wouldn't be there -- you'd be in France sucking down second-hand Gauloise smoke and being rude, arrogant, misinformed, and stupid. But, hey, you're doing most of that already.
I am an American; you are not.
