Just one so far, but I'm sittin' on a lot of new stuff yet to be
reviewed/Monday was a holiday so the mail didn't run...
1. Minus 5 "Down With Wilco" (Yep Roc Records YEP 2052). Finally! A
new record label and a dedicated full-length this time from a band
with more roots in different lands than Osibisa and Esperanto put
together...but with a Popllama label meets March Records kind of
loose paisley folk-pop connectiveness about them. Less Mellotron this
time too, though, with cello 'tron percolating lightly in the mix on
just one song, "Dagger's Drawn" (track #5). Confirmed and played by
Charlie Francis.
http://www.minus5.com is the website mentioned on
the CD, but flashes back to the old Matador site.
New England: I recall three albums, the second on Elektra with a
great longer song about "looking up into the skies" with plenty of
choral 'tron and some spirited keyboard work towards the end as the
song peaks...
