Subject: Mellotron/Chamberlin discoveries for the week

Kind of a dry week despite the flood of new music crossing my desk:

SUPERGRASS "Life On Other Planets" (Island 440 063 685-2 [U.S.])Track
#7 "Never Done Nothing Like That Before" has a mere five seconds of
flute 'tron beginning at the 30 second mark. It's a weird split bit--
one note ascending, the other descending--and drops in out of nowhere
on this frantic tune. Part of the CD was recorded at Rockfield
Studios, so I'm willing to bet it was the in-house Mellotron, as I've
never heard Mellotron on any of their recordings before.
