Subject: Bee Gees "1st " LOADED w/Mellotron

I know with the recent passing of Maurice Gibb, we mentioned Every
Christian Lion Hearted Man Will Show You has the classic eerie up-
front pitching 'tron bridge, but I would gather most of us discovered
that one via their Best Of Bee Gees album. I just found an absolutely
mint Atco SD 33-223 copy (lavender and tan label, no less) for a
dollar last week, and a number of songs are laced with 'tron...of
course there is Every Christian Lion Herted Man Will Show You, but
the opening track "Turn Of The Century" has 'tron strings merged with
real orchestra strings (is only the Moody Blues on the Days Of Future
Passed album the only other record that has done this?). "Red Chair
Fade Away" has 'tron flutes all over the place, and pitch knob
effects also. And y'know when the brothers Gibb do those long
signature ooh and aah vocal bits...that would make a GREAT Mellotron
choir tape. Especially when you hear that long "a" sound. Reminds me
almost of the weird organ used in the Tornados' version
of "Telstar"...
