Yes, and I have the Robert Fripp unplugged tapes series from Fripp the sister. He talkes about them here too. was recorded in 98. "Currently the mellotrons are being auctioned unofficially, two double manuals and two single manuals. I have no use for them and wil never use them again. A double manual mellotron used on The Court of the crimson king will sell for 10000 pounds. A double manual mellotron that was not used on the Court of the Crimson King will sell for 6000 pounds." Then he droned about how you don't keep things you don't use. "I am not a collector, yes I would give those guitars to the Hard Rock Cafe but I would rather them go to someone who will use them" - Fripp Unplugged

For those of you that would like some information on the King Crimson
Mellotrons, check out Robert Fripp's diary entry for 12/14/98... R.F.
was announcing his intention to sell all 6 (!!!) King Crimson
Mellotrons... there's serial numbers available for each 'Tron... and
which albums that they were used for. you can find the diary entry at:

However... as this entry is for today (9/14) ONLY... you need to check
it out before 12 midnight GMT (7:00 PM EST) because it will be replaced
